restaurant brasserie abshoven occupies a former chapel in abshoven, netherlands, where the original architecture, vaulted ceilings, stone walls, and ecclesiastical proportions do most of the work. the building was made for ceremony, not coffee, and that tension is still present. it functions now as a brasserie, but the space refuses to let you forget what it once was.
