the cortado is a good place to start. small, balanced, no fluff, and if you're the kind of person who wants to actually taste what the coffee does rather than drown it in milk, it tends to cut through clearly. reverent coffee bar sits in rolling hills estates, off deep valley drive, which is quieter and more residential than the parts of la most coffee writing tends to obsess over. that's not a complaint. the regulars here are consistent and genuinely attached to the place, which says more than a lot. this isn't a spot people stumble into. they come back. if you're heading out toward the palos verdes peninsula on a weekend morning, deep valley drive is worth the detour, and the cortado will still be there waiting.
