good coffee this far north on the 146th street corridor isn't something you stumble across every day. carmel has its share of chain options, but rose & lois on east 146th sits in a different category entirely. the kind of place that builds a real following not through novelty but through consistency, and the regulars here are loyal in a way that takes genuine effort to earn. if you're driving out to suite 110, you're probably already in the know, or you're about to be. the coffee program is taken seriously. that much comes through clearly in how the place is talked about. worth timing your visit for a morning cup before the carmel commute kicks in fully.
