you're on yardley road, b27, which isn't the part of birmingham that gets written up in travel guides. that's fine. smithy's cafe & deli sits here on this stretch of residential east birmingham, and the people who know it, know it well. there's a loyalty to this place that doesn't need explaining, the kind that builds slowly when a neighbourhood spot consistently does right by the people who walk through the door. you don't have to travel across the city for good coffee, and if you're nearby, you really shouldn't. the deli side means you can make a proper stop of it rather than a quick in-and-out. come for a flat white on a slow weekday morning when yardley road is quiet and you've got nowhere urgent to be.
