bedford's coffee scene has grown quietly but seriously over the past few years, with enough independent spots now that you can actually be picky. great barford sits just outside the town proper, on bedford road, and suspendisse catering and the coffee shop is the kind of place that draws people out that way deliberately. not by accident, not as a detour. the regulars here are consistent and vocal, which in a village setting means something, because word travels fast and tolerance for mediocre coffee is low. if you're heading out from bedford itself, the drive along the a428 corridor is short, and 31 bedford road, great barford is a reasonable destination for a mid-morning flat white when the week needs resetting.
