somewhere between the financial district's midday rush and the quieter stretch of south street near the seaport, t café holds its ground at 96 south st. not a lot of specialty coffee ends up this far downtown, which makes finding it feel less like luck and more like you actually know this city. the standing here is strong, and that means something when you're talking about a neighborhood that tends to run on convenience more than quality. come for a mid-morning flat white before the lunch crowd builds, or use it as a reason to walk further down to the waterfront than you'd normally bother. either way, south street earns the detour.
