taylor's coffee bar gets the basics exactly right, which turns out to be harder than it sounds. fm 529 in cypress isn't a destination street, but people keep making the drive out to suite 200 anyway, and that's not nothing. what pulls them back is a level of consistency that independent spots this size don't always manage to hold. regulars here aren't casual about their loyalty. you can read that in how strongly they talk about the place, how little convincing they need to return. no hedging, no "it's fine." just people who found something that works for them and kept showing up. if you're in the northwest houston suburbs and you haven't made it out here yet, the morning espresso is a reasonable place to start.
