The Abbey Centre in London, specialty coffee cafe

more photos

the flat white here is the kind of thing you don't overthink, you just order it again. great smith st is quietly one of westminster's more interesting spots for a mid-morning pause, close enough to the houses of parliament that the foot traffic is purposeful rather than tourist-heavy, which makes the abbey centre feel like a genuine local find rather than a convenience stop. if you're working through something between meetings, or just need a proper coffee before heading into the surrounding sw1 streets, it holds up. the standing it has locally isn't accidental, it... actually, skip that, the point is people keep coming back. finish with the flat white, not the afternoon rush.
