the tea here gets the same serious attention as the coffee, and that alone sets the beehive apart. specialty coffee is the draw, obviously, but cambridge heath road has this particular energy, part bethnal green spillover, part its own thing, and the beehive fits it without trying too hard. solo visits work well here, no pressure, no performance. the menu reads clearly for vegan and vegetarian eaters, not as an afterthought but as a genuine part of what's on offer. you don't have to explain yourself or ask awkward questions. the regulars who keep coming back are doing so for a reason, and that reason isn't complicated. start with the tea if you want to see what the place is actually about.
