the coffee here is taken seriously, and you can feel that without anyone making a point of it. uphill wharf sits at the quieter southern edge of weston-super-mare, where the river axe meets the bristol channel, and the boathouse has planted itself in that geography with some confidence. this isn't a place that needs the noise of a town centre to justify itself. locals know it. word has spread in the way it tends to when something is consistently good rather than occasionally great. if you're coming from the seafront, the drive down to uphill is worth it on its own terms. finish with whatever they're pulling on espresso that day.
