good coffee in harrogate takes a little knowing, and cambridge road is one of those addresses that rewards the effort. you'll find the cambridge cafe at number 5, tucked into hg1, close enough to the town centre that it's genuinely convenient but far enough from the main drag that the people who end up here mostly mean to. it has the kind of following that builds slowly and then sticks, regulars who don't really consider anywhere else on a weekday morning. that consistency isn't loud about itself, which is probably why it holds. the specialty side of things is taken seriously, not performed. if you're in harrogate and someone asks where to start, cambridge road is a reasonable answer, and a flat white there on a quiet tuesday is a decent place to land.
