out near crieff, the hosh is not the kind of address that puts itself forward, and yet people keep making the trip to the glenturret café. that kind of word-of-mouth pull in perthshire doesn't come from nowhere. if you're driving out from perth itself, the route through strathearn is already doing half the work, but the coffee is the actual reason to stay. the place sits at the edge of a serious whisky estate, which gives the whole visit a particular weight, a sense that the site has earned a slow afternoon rather than a quick stop. specialty coffee taken seriously, somewhere genuinely unhurried. come for a flat white on a grey highland morning and you'll understand why people don't rush back to the car.
