you're on greenway lane, which isn't the sort of street that gets much passing traffic, and that's probably fine with everyone who already knows about the salt cellars. budleigh salterton sits on the east devon coast, quiet in the way that small seaside towns are quiet, and this café fits that rhythm without apologising for it. the people who come here come back, consistently, which says more than a summary ever could. you get the sense the place isn't trying to impress anyone it hasn't already won over. specialty coffee done without theatrics, in a town that doesn't need them. if you're in the area, greenway lane is worth the detour, especially on a slow morning when you've got nowhere pressing to be.
