the name is a bit of a red herring, honestly. what you'll find on poole road isn't a heritage tearoom frozen in 1987, it's a proper specialty coffee shop that takes the drink seriously without making a performance of it. poole's bh17 stretch isn't the most obvious destination for good coffee, which is part of why places like this matter more than they would in, say, a city centre already saturated with third-wave options. locals have figured it out, and the word has spread steadily rather than through any particular hype cycle. if you're nearby and need a reason to stop, the flat white is the honest move.
