small towns make it easy to coast. the village cafe on bidford-on-avon's high street doesn't. what you get here is a place that takes its coffee seriously in a spot where nobody's forcing it to, which, if you know anything about specialty coffee culture, is the harder thing to pull off. there's no captive audience of office workers on lunch rotation, no foot traffic doing the heavy lifting. people come because they want to be there, and they keep coming back, which says more than any review ever could. if you're passing through the avon valley on a slow morning, make the stop. the flat white is the thing to order.
