you're on zafarano drive, which isn't the part of santa fe that ends up on postcards. it's a working stretch of the south side, and tribes coffee house sits right in the middle of that reality. which is kind of the point. santa fe has a reputation for tourism and turquoise, but locals need a place to actually be, and this is one of them. the standing tribes has built here didn't come from foot traffic off the plaza. it came from people on this side of town returning, repeatedly, by choice. you don't have to trek to the historic center to find something worth your morning. zafarano drive at a reasonable hour, a decent cup in hand, is a fine place to start the day.
