slow saturday mornings in lower queen anne have a particular rhythm, and vita at kexp fits right into it. you're on 1st ave n, close enough to the seattle center that the neighborhood still has a bit of that civic, unhurried energy. vita has been part of seattle's specialty scene long enough to carry some weight locally, and this location, attached to the radio station, draws people who are already predisposed to caring about what they're consuming. that's not nothing. it's not a grab-and-go spot by instinct, though you can treat it that way if the morning demands it. the crowd tends toward the intentional. a cortado on a grey weekday, the kind seattle produces in abundance from october onward, is a decent reason to stop on 1st ave before anything else gets started.
