the matcha here has a following for a reason. zenbu cafe sits inside beachwalk shopping center in kuta, which puts it in the middle of one of bali's busiest coastal strips, and yet the place pulls people in who are clearly not just killing time between shops. you get the sense regulars have worked out exactly what to order and exactly when to show up. the coffee program leans specialty, and that means sourcing and preparation are taken seriously rather than treated as background noise. kuta gets a lot of foot traffic from people who don't linger, but zenbu's crowd tends to stay. level 1 of beachwalk 2 is an easy place to walk past, so don't. come back for the matcha.
