the BV1900TD is a solid, no-fuss drip brewer that earned SCA certification by hitting the right brew temperatures, 195 to 205 degrees fahrenheit, and saturating grounds evenly through a showerhead design. it brews a full 8-cup carafe in about six minutes, keeps coffee hot in a double-walled stainless carafe, and asks almost nothing of the user beyond pressing one button. pre-infusion mode is available but not automatic, which is a mild frustration. at $189.95 it competes directly with OXO and Breville options.
