the S15 falcon is the most popular loring model for small to mid-size specialty roasters. it handles 3 to 15 kg batches in a 5 by 6.4 foot footprint, with the same single-burner efficiency and smoke incineration as the rest of the line. batch flexibility is excellent: you can roast 3 kg test batches and scale directly to 15 kg production without rewriting profiles. touchscreen automation, vacuum loading, and auto hopper come standard. the falcon fits roasters doing 200 to 800 kg per week who care about fuel cost, emissions, and repeatability. the downsides are upfront cost and learning curve. the falcon is significantly more expensive than a comparable 15 kg drum, and fluid-bed roasting behaves differently than cast iron or steel. if you're coming from drum roasting, expect to spend time dialing in your approach. if you value environmental impact, low smoke, and the ability to scale profiles across loring's range, the falcon is hard to beat.
