good coffee on rupert street, if you know where to look. allpress has been roasting long enough that collingwood locals don't really need to explain it to each other anymore, which is its own kind of endorsement. the roastery setup means what's in your cup was probably roasted close by and recently, not shipped across the country and sitting in a warehouse. that matters more than most cafes will admit. you're not walking into a performance here, just a place that's been doing this seriously for a long time. the kind of spot worth building a saturday morning around. start with a filter if you want to understand what they're actually doing with the beans, then decide from there.
