Aloha Roastery

wailua sits on kauai's eastern shore, where the coffee culture runs quieter than honolulu but no less serious. aloha roastery, tucked into a small unit along kuhio highway in kapaʻa, is where that seriousness takes a concrete shape. this is a roastery first, which means what you're drinking has usually traveled a much shorter distance from roaster to cup than at most places you'll walk into. the regulars here are loyal in that particular way that comes from consistency, not novelty. no gimmicks pulling them back, just the coffee doing what it's supposed to do. if you're on the eastern side of the island and you want something roasted close to where you're standing, kuhio highway is where you start.
