you're on ford road in dearborn, which runs long and flat through one of the most densely arab-american communities in the country, a stretch of the metro detroit area that gets overlooked by people who don't know it. bakri coffee roasters sits at 24417, and if you've been here before, you already know why people come back. this is an independent roaster that takes the sourcing and the roasting seriously, the kind of place where the coffee is the point, not the backdrop. detroit has a real specialty coffee scene now, and bakri is part of that without making a big announcement about it. the regulars here are loyal in the way that only happens when a place consistently delivers. get here on a weekday morning when ford road is still waking up.
