you're on peterboro st, which puts you squarely in the cass corridor, one of the few detroit neighborhoods that's been genuinely reshaping itself without entirely losing its edges. craig's coffee sits at 412, and if you're coming from midtown proper it's a short walk that crosses a few different versions of what detroit looks like right now. as an independent roaster, they're doing the sourcing and the roasting themselves, which means what ends up in your cup has fewer handoffs and more intention behind it. the review standing here is strong, consistently so, and that kind of thing doesn't hold in detroit's specialty scene without actually getting the coffee right. if you've got a morning free, peterboro in early light is a reasonable place to spend it.
