botley mills isn't the most obvious place to end up on a coffee run, but that's kind of the point. deveroast has built something genuinely loyal around it, the kind of regulars who don't drift to wherever's newest. you get the sense that what's happening here is taken seriously, not performed. winchester has its share of decent spots, but an independent roaster operating out of a mill site in botley, southampton brings a different weight to it, geographically and otherwise. the roasting side matters here, this isn't a shop that just buys bags from whoever's trending. that specificity is what keeps people coming back to botley mills on a weekday morning, when there's no occasion for it, just coffee.
