single-origin filter is the move if you're visiting duffins for the first time. there's a particular kind of confidence that comes with a roaster who knows their product well enough to let the coffee do the talking, and that's what you get here. staveley isn't a place people pass through for coffee, so when a roaster on main street builds a genuinely loyal following, that's not something to take lightly. regulars keep coming back, which in a village this size means something specific: people have options, and they're choosing this one repeatedly. if filter isn't your thing, go espresso-based and see where it lands. either way, don't rush. the la8 end of the kent valley doesn't reward hurrying, and neither does good coffee. the last cup of the morning, just before the hills pull you out the door, is probably the right time to be here.
