kampala has a coffee culture that often surprises people who haven't been paying attention. uganda grows some of the continent's most interesting robusta and arabica, and the city's independent roasters are increasingly the ones doing something serious with it. enaf coffee, out in jomayi estate mulawa in kira town, sits a little outside the city centre bustle, which is probably part of why its regulars keep coming back rather than just passing through. you're not stumbling on this place by accident. people who know it tend to know it well, and the word around it is consistently strong. worth making the trip out to kira town, especially in the morning before the day gets away from you.
