you're in obihiro, hokkaido, about a kilometer from the main station, and hoccino coffees has been roasting its own beans here since 2016. bruno runs the place with an australian-style cafe sensibility that sits a little differently from the typical japanese kissaten. the beans are roasted in-house, so what lands in your cup isn't traveling far before it gets to you. it's a small operation, but the focus is clearly on the coffee itself, not just the menu around it.
