thrapston doesn't have the coffee density of a bigger city, which means when somewhere gets it right, people notice. jute coffee, tucked into unit 3 on top close, has built a following in kettering's orbit by doing roasting properly rather than gesturing at it. this is a working roastery that takes the sourcing and production side seriously, not a cafe that happens to have beans on a shelf. if you're making the trip out to nn14, that distinction matters. the reviews here sit consistently high, and specialty coffee towns earn that the hard way. worth timing your visit around a fresh roast day if you can, then picking up a bag of whatever's just come off the drum.
