if your saturday has no real agenda yet, w addison st on the northwest side isn't the worst place to let it unfold. la capannina coffee sits at 7547 w addison, a stretch of chicago that doesn't get the same foot traffic as wicker park or logan square, which means you're less likely to be waiting three deep for a seat. this is an independent roaster, so the coffee coming out of here isn't sourced from a central warehouse. the standing among reviewers is strong, consistently so, and that kind of reputation holds in neighborhoods where locals don't have patience for places that coast. come for a morning cortado before the weekend picks up speed. you won't feel rushed.
