burnham-on-crouch isn't a town most people associate with specialty coffee, which makes lalico's presence on station approach all the more interesting. tucked into the station industrial estate, it's the kind of place that rewards the slightly deliberate trip rather than a casual stumble. independent roasters operating out of industrial units tend to take the product seriously, because there's no foot traffic to coast on, no passing tourist trade to paper over mediocrity. if you're making the drive out to the essex coast, or you're already based along the crouch estuary, this is worth building into your day. the reviews back the confidence. go early, when the roasting operation is most alive, and leave with something to brew at home.
