good coffee in yonghe isn't the easiest thing to track down, which makes our coffee 奧爾咖啡 on xinyi road worth knowing about. the neighborhood sits across the xindian river from central taipei, residential and unhurried in a way that suits a roaster operating without much ambient noise around it. this is a place where the roasting side of things is taken seriously, not as a talking point but as the actual work, and regulars in this part of new taipei city have clearly noticed. if you're making your way out to lane 25, go in the morning when the day hasn't complicated itself yet, and let whatever single origin they're pouring that week do the talking.
