Recent Beans

if you're the kind of person who needs a slow saturday morning to feel like it actually happened, westgate is a reasonable place to start. recent beans sits at 97-99 westgate in wakefield, the kind of address that puts you close enough to the city centre without being swallowed by it. the specialty roasting side of things means what ends up in your cup has been thought about before it ever reaches you, which matters more than most places let on. wakefield doesn't always get written into the uk's specialty coffee conversation, but it probably should. the reviews here are consistently strong, and that kind of consistency doesn't just maintain itself. if you're mapping out your morning, westgate gives you a solid reason to start earlier than you planned.
