you're on 158th ave ne, deep in redmond's eastside grid of tech campuses and quiet suburban throughways, which isn't the most obvious place to go looking for serious coffee. but river trail roasters is at suite 100 on this stretch, and locally it's built a reputation that doesn't need much explaining. redmond has its own rhythm, separate from seattle's coffee mythology, and a roaster operating here is doing the work for the people who actually live and work in this part of king county. you don't need to make a trip out of it. come for the roasted beans to take home, or pull up before the eastside commute fully kicks in. the coffee stands on its own terms, which around here is exactly enough.
