you're on newport drive in rolling meadows, the kind of industrial-leaning stretch where you're not really passing through unless you have a reason to be there. roast 808 is that reason. it sits in a unit address that signals roasting operation more than retail cafe, and that's not a bad thing at all, because what you get here is specialty coffee taken seriously at the source level, not dressed up for foot traffic. the review standing says plenty without needing elaboration. this is a roaster with a real following, and that following didn't build itself on convenience. if you're making the drive out to rolling meadows, go early, and go with a specific order in mind.
