a slow saturday with nowhere urgent to be is probably the right frame for cedar farm. back lane, mawdesley isn't the kind of address you stumble across, you have to mean it, and that filters the crowd in ways that tend to work in your favour. roberts & co. has built the sort of following that doesn't really need explaining, the regulars know what they're getting and they keep coming back for it. as a specialty roaster operating out of a working farm site, the focus sits on the coffee itself rather than footfall. you're not popping in between meetings here. the journey out to l40 earns you something quieter than a high-street stop, and the cortado on a weekend morning is exactly the reason to make it.
