a roaster operating out of weston road on the trading estate, which isn't the most glamorous postcode in the south east, but that's not really the point. what tends to happen when a specialty roaster sets up in a working industrial area is that the focus stays on the coffee rather than the room. rombouts has been doing exactly that in slough sl1, and if you're someone who actually cares where your beans come from and how they're treated before they reach you, that matters more than a pretty shopfront. the standing here is strong, and consistently so. worth timing a visit around mid-morning, when you can take your time with whatever's on the brew bar that week.
