york, pennsylvania has a quiet but genuinely committed specialty coffee scene, and soulshine roasting company sits at the serious end of it. you'll find them out on carlisle road in dover, which isn't the kind of address that screams destination, but people make the trip anyway. that consistency matters in a roasting operation, where the decisions happen before anything reaches a cup, and where cutting corners is easy to hide and hard to recover from. the review standing here suggests they're not hiding anything. independent roasters at this level tend to obsess over sourcing and process in ways that show up in the final product, and soulshine appears to be doing exactly that. worth timing your visit for a weekday morning, when roasting operations tend to be at their freshest pull.
