the cortado is a good place to start here. stay golden sits on sidco drive in a part of nashville that's more industrial corridor than cafe strip, which means you're probably coming with a purpose rather than stumbling in. that's fine. the coffee is the point. they roast their own, which gives the menu a coherence that a lot of shops lose when they're buying from five different suppliers, and the single origins tend to reward attention if you're in the mood to actually taste what's in the cup. locals have clearly made up their minds about this place. if you want something to sit with, the filter coffee is worth the slower pace. sidco drive at midmorning, a black coffee, no rush.
