glenrothes doesn't have the coffee density of edinburgh or glasgow, so the places that do exist here carry more weight than they might elsewhere. cafe in the square, sitting on church street in st andrews, has built a reputation that holds up under the kind of scrutiny that comes from regulars who actually know what they're talking about. that's not nothing. if you're somewhere in fife and you want a cup that someone took seriously before it reached you, this is a reasonable place to point yourself. the standing it holds among the people who come back, again and again, says more than most marketing ever could. worth arriving before the lunch crowd gets there and ordering something hot off whatever's seasonal.
