slow weekends in argyll have a particular quality to them, the kind where the drive along the loch takes longer than you planned and you arrive somewhere like tayvallich already half-unwound. the café sits in pa31 8PJ, out in tayvallich village proper, which is not a place you pass through by accident. you come here because you meant to. that matters. a spot this far into kintyre's quieter neighbour has to earn its place in someone's day, and from what locals say, this one does. nothing about the setting suggests a quick transaction, so don't treat it like one. come with a book, or don't. either way, the afternoon cortado is a reasonable reason to make the detour.
