the filter coffee here is worth slowing down for, not rushing past on your way somewhere else. westraven sits on hampton court in the westwood part of peterborough, a residential stretch that doesn't see a lot of passing tourist traffic, which means most people who show up actually want to be there. that tends to change the atmosphere in ways you notice pretty quickly. it's the kind of place that's built a local following by being consistently good rather than occasionally impressive, and peterborough's specialty scene is small enough that word travels fast when something earns that kind of trust. if you're making the trip out to pe3, plan around a flat white or whatever their filter offering is that week. westwood in the late morning is quiet, and that's not a criticism.
