Toper has been building drum roasters in Izmir, Türkiye since 1954, making them one of the older names in the business. they manufacture across the full spectrum, from 1 kg sample roasters to industrial equipment that moves 240 kg per batch. the TKMSX series covers the small to mid-production range and runs on gas. these machines are straightforward: drum rotation, gas heat, manual or profile logging control depending on the model, and a cooling tray beneath the drum. Toper machines show up in a lot of startup roasteries and cafes, particularly outside north america and europe, where their pricing tends to land below Probat or Diedrich. build quality is functional rather than heirloom. they'll roast coffee reliably if you maintain them, but don't expect the fit and finish of a german or american drum. the smaller models (1 kg, 5 kg) work well for dialing in new coffees or very small batch production. the 10 kg, 15 kg, and 30 kg models suit cafes or small production roasters who need a basic gas drum without spending six figures. Cropster and Artisan compatibility is available on most current models.
