about Finca Calahute

finca calahute is a family-owned farm in la democracia, huehuetenango, guatemala, operated by alfonso anzueta jr., the third generation of the anzueta family to cultivate coffee on this land. the farm was originally purchased by his grandfather in 1942 at roughly 100 hectares and has a history of citrus and coffee production. by the time the property passed to his father, alfonso augusto anzueto de leon, it had grown to over 500 hectares before being divided among three siblings in 2015. alfonso jr. inherited finca calahute and has maintained a focus on specialty-grade production. the farm produces fully washed lots with noted cup characteristics of cocoa and citrus with a clean body. microlot selections are available in addition to larger lot offerings. sucafina north america lists the calahute huehuetenango fully washed as a current offering, making sucafina a documented route to market for roasters seeking to purchase this coffee through an established importer. the farm has also been recognized in the context of the guatemalan cup of excellence program. direct contact is available via fincacalahute@gmail.com for roasters interested in direct or lot-specific purchasing conversations.
