hand-poured coffee made from beans roasted on-site is the reason most people end up on daoxiang road in the first place. beancafe's whole thing is fresh-roast pour-overs, so you're not choosing between roast dates from six weeks ago. beitou isn't a neighbourhood you pass through by accident, which means the people who find this place usually mean it, and the regulars here are genuinely attached. the standing it's built makes sense when you think about what it's actually doing: single-origin filter work, roasted in-house, no shortcuts on either end. if you're coming out to the beitou end of taipei, time it for a slow afternoon and order whatever single-origin is freshest off the roaster that day.
