kaldi coffee farm takes roasting seriously, and that shows up in the cup before anything else does. the nishiarai shop sits inside ario nishiarai, the shopping complex on nishiaraisakaecho in adachi city, which sounds like an unlikely home for a specialty roaster until you remember that good coffee has never needed a precious address to justify itself. what matters is that kaldi controls the roast in-house, which means you're not drinking something that sat in a warehouse for three months waiting to be moved. adachi isn't the neighborhood people associate with tokyo's specialty coffee scene, and honestly that works in your favor. less posturing, more focus on the coffee itself. if you're passing through nishiarai, the drip coffee is the thing to order.
