the series 2 is bellwether's updated shop roaster with a 2.7 kg maximum batch capacity, fully automated control, and electric drum heating. it's designed for in-store roasting with minimal labor: load green, select a profile, and let the machine handle the rest. the internal afterburner and ventless design mean you can place it in locations where traditional roasters won't fit. throughput is moderate, suitable for a busy cafe or small retail operation, but not for high-volume production. the automation is the main selling point, it delivers consistency without requiring roasting experience. the downside is limited manual control and higher cost compared to conventional small batch machines. you're also working within bellwether's software ecosystem, which is either a feature or a limitation depending on your goals. if you want fresh coffee in-house without hiring a roaster or renovating your space, this machine does what it claims. if you want to learn roasting or develop your own profiles from the ground up, it's not the right tool.
