origin coffee lab is a peruvian coffee exporter founded in 2016 by josé rivera, based in jaen in the northern coffee-growing region of peru. the company works with a network of smallholder farmers, referred to as miembros, and has built quality control and chain-of-custody systems around parchment collection at its own warehouses. premiums paid to farmers are tiered progressively against local market prices, rising as cup quality increases. alongside sourcing, origin provides in-network farmers with training in agricultural and financial management. the company offers both microlots and higher-volume blender lots, including full container volumes. for blender-grade coffees scoring in the 84 to 85 point range, offer samples are available on an ongoing basis. for microlots and top lots, samples and shipments are seasonally timed to the peruvian harvest, with arrivals to the u.s. typically in the november to december window. forward contracts can be booked on agreed quality and price parameters before samples are drawn. origin coffee lab has supplied importers including crop to cup, and coffees from its network have placed in cup of excellence competition.
