if you're making the trek out to hornchurch for whatever reason, unit 2 on hornchurch road isn't the kind of place you stumble into by accident. altitude coffee roasts in-house, which means what ends up in your cup started as a deliberate decision somewhere upstream, not a default wholesale order. that matters more than people realize. the neighborhood is east london's quieter suburban edge, rm11 territory, and the fact that serious specialty roasting is happening here says something about how spread out london's coffee scene has actually become. you don't need to be in shoreditch for this. the roastery setup means you're closer to the source than most city-center cafes can claim. start with a filter if you want to understand what they're actually doing with the beans.
