slow mornings in the 1er have a particular rhythm, and fika roasters on rue fernand rey suits them well. you don't need to be doing anything important to be here, though plenty of people clearly are. the roasting side of things means the coffee you're drinking hasn't traveled far from its source to your cup, which matters more than it sounds. regulars here are loyal in the way that takes time to build, not the kind you get from a loyalty card scheme. the kind that means people reroute their morning to come back. if you're in lyon's 1er and you want something considered rather than convenient, this is a reasonable place to spend a weekday morning or a slow saturday with a cortado.
